🤠 New Wild-West Restaurant Opening on The Barbican this Friday

A brand-new Western-themed restaurant and bar is set to open on the Barbican this Friday as Montana Saloon officially launches its Plymouth venue. Bringing a Wild West twist to the waterfront, the new spot promises a saloon-style atmosphere paired with a menu created by sister restaurant Smashland Burgers, known for their stacked smash burgers - this time bringing Wild-West, American-inspired comfort food.

Located right on Quay Road in the heart of the Barbican, Montana Saloon is aiming to combine big flavours with a lively bar setting, making it one to watch for burger fans and anyone looking for a new late-night hangout by the Barbi.

Plymouth Argyle has confirmed it is proposing a restructure of its operations that could see up to 20 roles made redundant as the club looks to address ongoing financial pressures following relegation from the Championship.

After dropping into League One last season, the Pilgrims have faced a sharp reduction in broadcast revenue, while previously running with a record wage bill of around £18 million during their final Championship campaign. The club’s latest accounts also revealed that owner Simon Hallett provided a £9.8 million loan to support finances after the relegation.

A new high-tech vessel is joining the water this year as Plymouth Boat Trips introduces Legend of Plymouth to its fleet for the 2026 season.

The boat previously operated in Scotland as Legend of Loch Ness, where it cruised the famous waters of Loch Ness in search of the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Now relocated to the South West, the vessel will be running cruises across Plymouth Sound and along the River Tamar.

The modern boat can carry up to 107 passengers and features an open top deck, a heated indoor saloon, a bar and onboard facilities. One of its standout features is advanced echo-sounding sonar, with screens around the vessel allowing passengers to see what lies beneath the water as they travel.
