🥖 Plymouth’s HEYL Bakery Has Officially Opened its Doors at 32 Batter Street!

A new chapter begins for one of Plymouth’s much-loved bakeries, with the ovens now fired up in a brand-new city-centre home.

After three fantastic years at Alma Yard, HEYL Bakery has officially moved to Batter Street and opened on Wednesday 21 January. The beautiful new space is already buzzing and baking, serving up fresh bread, pastries and bakes made on site each day.

Open 9am–3pm, HEYL is perfectly placed alongside Almanac Café and Jar Plymouth, creating a brilliant one-stop spot for bread, coffee and refill shopping right in the heart of the city.

This move has been a true labour of love, with weeks of hard work, late nights and more than a little cleaning, and Sam and Kate are now ready to welcome both familiar faces and new customers through the doors.

Plymouth’s best-known entertainment venue has entered a new era with a refresh of its identity. Plymouth Pavilions has officially been renamed Plymouth Arena, with the change taking effect from 20 January. The move is all about better reflecting the scale, ambition and live experiences the venue delivers for the city, while keeping everything running as usual for ticket holders and scheduled events.

Plymouth Arena New Logo

Work to extend and improve a popular off-road walking and cycling route in Plymouth is set to begin in February, with contractors expected on site from Monday 9 February. The improvements will open up the previously blocked-off bridge under Colesdown Hill, add a new crossing over Elburton Road, and create a traffic-free, accessible path for walkers, cyclists, people with pushchairs and mobility scooters along the route from Laira Rail Bridge past Saltram Meadow. The project, part of the city’s ongoing plan to make walking and cycling safer and more attractive, includes lighting, safe crossings and tree-planting to make the route even better for everyday journeys and leisure rides when it opens over the coming year.
