☀️ What's On in Plymouth this Weekend? (May 2-4)
Comedy Nights, Festivals, Bank Holiday Summer Jams, and some really interesting local business news!

Good morning, Plymouth! We’re in to May already - which means more Sun (not holding my breath), and more Bank Holidays. Superb!
In today’s edition of Wasson Plymouth:
😋 Good Food & Craft Market
🥐 The Almond Thief rebrands as OPE Cafe!
🐣 The VOT’s New Menu and Award!
…and so much more. Let’s dive in!
5 Things In Plym
😂 KABOOM - Improv Comedy Night (May 2)
If you're in need of a proper laugh (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), check this out — ‘The Squirrel Spoon Collective’ are back with a wild night of improv comedy where you throw them the prompts and they turn it into complete chaos. No script, just ridiculous, on-the-spot hilarity. You never see the same show twice. I went before and couldn’t stop grinning for hours after.
📍 Barbican Theatre, Plymouth
⏰ 8:00pm - 10:00pm
🎊 We Are Here Festival at Leadworks (May 3)
One of my favourite grassroots festivals returns! A full day of live music with a lineup packed full of talent from under-represented genders – think punk, grunge, synth and alternative vibes across two stages. There’ll be band merch, info stalls, and that proper community atmosphere Leadworks always brings. If you're into raw, authentic music with a message – this is where you want to be.
📍 Leadworks Warehouse CIC, Plymouth
⏰ 2:00pm - 12:00am
🤫 90’s Silent Disco (May 3)
This one sounds incredible – imagine raving under glowing jellyfish tanks to 90s bangers on your headphones. On Saturday 3rd May, Plymouth Aquarium is turning into a neon-lit throwback dream with three DJs spinning nothing but 90s classics. Grab a headset, pick your channel, and get nostalgic surrounded by sharks and coral. Honestly, can’t wait for this.
📍 National Marine Aquarium
⏰ 6:30pm - 12:00am
😋 Good Food & Craft Market (May 4)
First Sunday of every month = RWY Market day. If you haven’t been yet, go. Local food, handmade bits, proper chilled vibes down on The Green. It's always a good excuse for a mooch, some treats, and a bit of people-watching. And with the Yard's restaurants, art studios, and sea views all right there, you can easily make a day of it.
📍 Royal William Yard
⏰ 10:00am - 3:00pm
If you're staying in Plymouth for the Bank Holiday, this one’s going to be massive. Summer Jam is back at The Corinthian on Sunday 4th May – right on the waterfront. DJs spinning nothing but 90s, 00s and today’s biggest RnB, Hip Hop, Dancehall and Afro Beats. Big names on the decks, sun (hopefully), cocktails and a proper good crowd. Over 18s only – dress nice, vibe right.
📍 The Corinthian, Plymouth Hoe
⏰ 4:00pm - 10:00pm
