5 Things In Plym

This one’s going to be electric. Local bands will be battling it out in the Fan Zone at Home Park for a shot at supporting the Kaiser Chiefs and Jake Bugg at 'Live at Argyle' later this month. Each band gets 20 minutes to give it everything – and the crowd decides the winner. If you’re into live music, this is the kind of raw, high-energy night that could end up being the start of someone’s big break.

📍 Home Park Stadium, Plymouth
⏰ 6:00pm - 11:00pm

There’s always something good going on at The Treasury, and their Friday night live music sets are one of the best ways to kick off the weekend. Every Friday they’ve got top artists on rotation — smooth tunes, relaxed vibes, and great cocktails in a stunning venue. Whether you’re going for a chilled one or just want some background beats before a big night out, it’s a solid shout.

📍 The Treasury Bar & Restaurant, Plymouth
⏰ From 7:00pm

If you’ve ever wanted to do something totally different and super relaxing, this is it. A half-day retreat on Drake’s Island with fitness sessions, chill time, and incredible views across the Sound. It’s such a cool use of the space and feels like a proper escape — except it’s just 10 minutes from the city. You get expert guidance from local legend Emily Keen too. Definitely one to gift yourself or someone else.

📍 Drake’s Island, Plymouth
⏰ 9:30am - 3:30pm

Central Park turns into vegan heaven for the day, and even if you’re not 100% plant-based, this is such a good event to check out. Loads of independent traders with everything from street food and bakes to ethical fashion and skincare. Chill in the grass with mates, try something new, and maybe even stock up on a few tasty bits to take home. And it’s totally free!

📍 Central Park, Plymouth
⏰ 10:00am - 4:00pm

One of the biggest feel-good days in the city’s calendar. Whether you're doing the 5K, 10K, or the full half marathon, the atmosphere on the Hoe is always buzzing. Loads of runners, supporters, and good vibes all around. Even if you’re just heading down to cheer people on, it’s such an inspiring day to be part of.

📍 Plymouth Hoe
⏰ From early morning (varies by race)

We checked out People’s Coffee at Mount Batten last week. They serve up an incredible brew, as well as toastie foccacias. They were to die for! Check it out 😋
